The full name of this species is the Camponotus americanus. This species of ant resides in oak forests and other densenly packed forests of oak variations. They can also be found in thick grasslands. They are not harmful to humans nor the biodiversity of the area. They mainly nest in trees such as hardwood oak trees and many other variations of oak trees.
